Restructuring 101
Don’t wait for a restructuring to happen to get trained on the Works Council’s critical role in organizational change. You will learn about what constitutes a “reorganization” in the first place, how the Works Council should be involved, strategies for effectiveness, which types of measures you can negotiate and most importantly, how to have an actual influence - from the impact and scope of the reorg itself to the exit packages employees will receive.
Your Works Council Will:
Explain when a reorganisation requires Works Council involvement
Identify when a change becomes significant
Assess significance using a clear, practical test
Identify social plans, voluntary leave schemes, & separation agreement terms
Consider the different needs of diverse employee groups
Use what you've learned to influence outcomes
Works Council Fundamentals training is a required pre-requisite to Restructuring 101 training. This training can be paired with a day of Negotiations 101 training, where your WoCo practices negotiating the elements of a reorg. This training can be done for the full Works Council, or small groups/committees.
What Other Works Councils Say:
“The group setting was an excellent chance to hear real use cases, challenges and solutions to help my thinking so I can make future changes and recommendations. ”
